We love to lounge. Above all, we love to lounge in linen.
We’re all about the importance of resting, lounging and slowing down. When we mindfully choose to slow down, we create space to refresh. When we refresh we are able to see new and innovative ideas. In fact, rest is essential for innovation.
Lounge Fashion became the holy grail of every wardrobe in this brand new (aka post COVID) world. Funny enough we had no idea how important lounge pieces will be (for our sanity) when we created our first ever linen piece.
We felt the need to create something to complement your sustainable swimwear. Something you can wear to the beach and then easily throw over jeans or shorts and elevate your dinner outfit. We love to spice it up with a red lippy and boots.
As a result, we’ve created a universal linen piece to wear all summer, staycation, iso, camping trip long. In other words, linen kimono is a piece of a capsule wardrobe.
Capsule wardrobe is few essential items in your wardrobe that will not go out of fashion. It’s timeless, it has many ways to wear and it only gets better with age.
Why did we choose linen? We always choose our materials super thoroughly. We think and research endless hours before selecting a material for Raw Salt. Our swimwear is made from recycled fibres. For our lounge piece we wanted to use something breathable, light and sustainable.
According to Good On You, linen is one of the most biodegradable and stylish fabrics in fashion history. It is strong, naturally moth resistant, and made from flax plant fibres, so when untreated (i.e. not dyed) it is fully biodegradable.
Linen is thermoregulating and antibacterial. This means it can withstand high temperatures—making the fabric generally perfect for raiding the jungle or lounging on a tropical island. It also absorbs moisture without holding any bacteria. Talk about mother nature's power!
Linen is actually stronger when wet than dry and becomes softer and more pliable the more it is washed. It just gets better and better!
